What’s a Man Basket?
A man basket is a side platform mounted to the truck bed. It gives workers a safe place to stand outside the bed when working on the road — like placing cones, signs, or performing quick tasks in traffic zones.
What It Does:
- Provides a stable, enclosed area for a worker to ride or stand.
- Keeps workers outside the truck bed, close to the action but protected
- Often includes a safety gate and a step or ladder for easy entry
Where It Goes:
- Typically mounted on the passenger side of the bed (sometimes on both sides)
- Welded or bolted directly to the bed frame
- Positioned just behind the cab or in the mid-section of the side rail
Man Basket Options:
- Comes in two sizes:
- 33 1/8" (for longer beds/trucks)
- 24" (for shorter beds)
- Can be welded-on or bolt-on, depending on the truck and customer preference
