THE LARGEST INVENTORY OF TRUCK MOUNTED ATTENUATORS ON THE WEST COAST
Western Highways Traffic Safety Products has the largest inventory of truck-mounted attenuators on the West Coast and provides the best quality, pricing, and delivery/pickup options. With leasing, and purchase options available, you can get the best equipment per month, per week, or per day.
Introducing the Scorpion Truck Mounted Attenuator (TMA), a safety device that’s ingeniously designed to fold up vertically at the rear of your truck. The Scorpion TMA is compactly stowed at a height of 12 feet, 11 inches. When fully deployed, it extends to 19 feet, 4 inches, making it significantly longer than many other attenuators on the market.
The width of the Scorpion TMA is comparable to that of most trucks, ensuring a match in size for consistency and safety. It’s engineered to be no narrower than the truck’s body width to prevent the risk of an impacting vehicle bypassing the attenuator and colliding with the truck’s edge, which could result in fatal or severe injuries.
The Blade TMA utilizes advanced technology with 12 blades that allow its aluminum body to crumple efficiently, deflecting impact away from the vehicle. In contrast, the Scorpion TMA employs a unique energy absorption system, though not blade-based, to mitigate collision forces effectively. Both systems are designed to enhance safety in work zones by reducing the severity of impacts.
01
Western Highways Traffic Safety provides comprehensive traffic control and work zone management solutions, ensuring operations are both efficient and safe.
03
Its design ingeniously redirects the impact away from the truck’s vulnerable “coffin corner,” significantly enhancing safety.
05
Equipped with a special mounting bracket, the TMA can be transferred between trucks in just 10 minutes, streamlining the setup process.
02
The TMA has undergone optional testing at speeds up to 70mph, surpassing the standard requirements set by MASH.
04
The vertical storage position of the TMA means no loss of loading space, unlike fold-over attenuators, and its open design minimizes wind drag.
06
Featuring quick deployment, the TMA is operational within 20 seconds and can be deployed at speeds of up to 50mph, balancing safety with efficiency.
